Dead engine due to oil consumption
2016
Hyundai
Tucson
Pros:I like the comfort of the car.
Cons:Extremely unreliable and many expensive repairs since buying it.
Engine
No need help
Back in September 2021 I got my spark plugs replaced. After that I had the oil light pop up during on ramps of the highway when I was using more gas. I stopped into Hyundai because I was still 2,000 miles from needing to get an oil change and was told there was no issue and my oil level was fine. This happened on two occasions over a few months. Then one day the vehicle had no lights on and just stopped on me. I got it towed and was told due to oil consumption I would need to replace the engine. There are currently no used engines I can find and I can’t afford a new engine since they’re not replacing it due to being over 100,000 miles. I was also told by the dealer this is very common and expected on their engines which I wish I knew before I’m stuck paying for a vehicle I can’t afford to repair.
No, I would not recommend
