Ford PowerShift Transmission Class Action Settlement Announced

Ford PowerShift Transmission Class Action Settlement Announced

Last Updated on February 15, 2024

A class action lawsuit was filed alleging that vehicles equipped with the PowerShift dual-clutch automatic transmission experience bucking, kicking, jerking, harsh engagement, and delayed acceleration and lurching.

This settlement covers current and former 2011-2016 Fiesta and 2012-2016 Focus owners and lessees who had issues with their Ford PowerShift transmissions.

PowerShift Transmission Problems

Vehicle owners allege that a design and/or manufacturing defective with the PowerShift Transmission causes the vehicles to accelerate suddenly, experience a delay in downshifts, delayed acceleration and even difficulty stopping the vehicle.

This defect causes premature internal wear eventually leading to catastrophic transmission failure.
