2014-2016 Nissan Rogues Recalled For Fire Risk

2014-2016 Nissan Rogues Recalled For Fire Risk

Nissan is recalling over 688,946 Rogue SUVs in the U.S. and Canada due to the potential of water or salt potentially causing corrosion to the drivers side wiring connector.

The Problem

Documents released today by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated that the potential for water and salt to enter the driver’s foot well wiring connector may lead to corrosion and electrical problems with the vehicle.

Corrosion in the electrical connector can result in power window/seat failure, all-wheel-drive warning light illumination, battery drainage, and electrical connector damage that increases the risk of a fire.

Documents posted Wednesday say Nissan has seven reports of fires or “thermal incidents.”

The Fix

The remedy is currently under development.

Customer Recall Notifications

Owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed March 2, 2022. Additionally a second notice will be mailed once the remedy becomes available.
