Suddenly began knocking one day
We have a 2016 Tucson that has been serviced regularly from Hyundai dealerships. It suddenly began knocking one day. Upon checking the oil, we discovered it was empty. We had the car towed to the dealer and they said they found metal shavings and it would need replaced. The service tech recommended we submit a claim with Hyundai Americas to see if there was anything they would do. The claim was denied because we are 9,000 miles over the 100,000 mile warranty. The dealer said they could replace the engine with a refurbished one (63,000 miles) for $6,400.
