Hello I own (2) 2012 Hyundai Elantra's automatics that have the 1.8 4 cylinders engine without auto start. Both have had continuous engine failures around 80K miles they were both under warranty. The Hyundai service dept at my local dealership has unsuccessfully tried to repair them over a couple years.

First hyundai. its ok fairly priced. You really cant judge a vehicle in a test drive. Cabin is loud, pick-up slow. Sound system sounds like something from the 70's. I don't use electronic gadgets, cameras , blue tooth, etc. but it has a fair amount. Boring car, should have stuck with

Problem with this Hyundai is the loss of vision due to the high doors and limited glass exposure. People who are under 5'5" will have many blind spots, especially when turning left or right. Vision is really restricted compared to older versions of this car. Engine gets a little sluggish

Neither pedal does much of anything. Drum brakes in a 2017 car? If I had realized that beforehand, I would never have even looked at the car at all. Brakes feel like a wet sponge, and that's AFTER I had them serviced. Pickup is snail-like. Road noise is worse than

If you are just going from Point A to Point B, then the Elantra will suit your needs. Since this car has such poor pickup, you would not want to drive it on a long distance trip. Luckily, we drive my husband's Prius for long distance driving. The Elantra also
