How fix the issue with Alfa Romeo Stelvio's DNA drive mode selector not switching modes?

The Alfa Romeo being unable to register the desired mode could potentially be because the selector switch is damaged. And potentially could also be due to a control module that is not working properly. When that happens, the selector's input is not properly interpreted. Examining these two components could detect where the problem lies and a possible solution to it. A corroded connector can also be a culprit even though it is not common. But it happens after a long time of usage. Replacing the connectors of it has been in use for up to two years could also help.
