How to fix up foggy headlights fast?

Hey Alex,

Foggy headlights on your Acura can significantly reduce visibility and detract from the vehicle's appearance. To fix them quickly, start by cleaning the headlights with a mixture of dish soap and warm water to remove any surface dirt and grime. Once clean, dry the headlights thoroughly with a microfiber cloth. Next, apply a headlight restoration kit, which typically includes a polishing compound and sanding pads. Use the sanding pads to gently sand the headlight lens, starting with the coarsest grit and progressing to finer grits. After sanding, apply the polishing compound with a clean cloth, using circular motions to buff the lens until it becomes clear. Rinse off any residue and dry the headlights again. For added protection and to prevent future fogging, apply a UV sealant or a clear coat spray designed for headlights. This process should restore your headlights' clarity and improve your driving safety. If you prefer a DIY approach, a mixture of baking soda and vinegar or toothpaste can be used as an alternative polishing agent. However, professional restoration kits generally provide better and longer-lasting results.

Devin has given really useful solutions. I would like to add a few more methods to address foggy headlight problems. Washing with soap can help, likewise rubbing a non-gel toothpaste onto the headlight with a soft cloth and then rinsing with water can also clear foggy headlight under a minute. You can also try rubbing headlights with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and then rinse and dry. Spray WD-40 directly on the headlight and wipe it with a clean cloth for a quick temporary fix. Use a UV protectant or wax to prevent future fogging.

To add to what has been said, regular cleaning is one of the best ways to prevent foggy headlights. Also try as much as possible to prevent harsh chemicals.
