Do not under any circumstances buy this car.
Yes, by the dealer
I bought my 2015 Sonic Hatchback in 2016, it was a demo car with under 3,000 miles on it. So, yes, I've had it for 3 years, and yes, I have put a lot of miles on it. 2 of those three years have been nothing but trouble. Particularly with the coolant system. Over the past year alone I have had the car in for coolant system related repairs over 7 times. Mostly it has been small repairs, a hose or housing, but no one can answer why I'm having the same problems over and over. If you look up any given chevy sonic message board the coolant system issues are the number one complaint. Why hasn't this been investigated by chevy? Why haven't recalls been issued? No one knows. This car has turned me off from American cars for good. The moment I owe less than it's KBB value I will be trading it in for something different. I aspire to have a vehicle that I actually trust to get me to where I'm going. Even with the high mileage I have on this car, I don't feel like that's too much to ask for.
No, I would not recommend
