Model year with the most reported issues

2014

Most reported problem

Engine

High risk

High

Engine problems include oil leaks, oil consumption, overheating, stalling, smoking, trouble turning over, or engine seizure/failure.
Car depreciation

34% after 5 years

While different cars depreciate at different rates, it's a good rule of thumb to assume that a new car will lose approximately 20 percent of its value in the first year. In five years, the average depreciation rate is 50% of their initial value.
Complaint Resolution

Poor

All automobiles will suffer from defects at some point, but its the way the dealer and manufacturer tend to the issues. As reported currently, Cadillac isn't taking care of some customer complaints.
Recalls

37 Recalls

A recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle, equipment, car seat, or tire creates an unreasonable safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards. Manufacturers are required to fix the problem by repairing it, replacing it, offering a refund, or in rare cases repurchasing the vehicle.

Car has been to the Dealership 4 times already for a low idle misfire. The dealership and General Motors are telling me it's a low idle roughness inherent to this 2.5 GM engine. Ya Right! You mean General Motors can't build a 4 cylinder engine with a smooth idle. Car

I love the design and interior but don't like how GM continually cuts down the size of Cadillacs. It is almost impossible for anyone to ride in the back seat as there is little or no leg room for an adult. I had to put a set of tires on

I kept every service invoice for the 26 breakdowns . The car handled well, but feels toyish because of how light it is. Overall very big disappointment for a 50g performance model. But GM to their credit bought it back.

This was my 3rd Caddy; after 2 CTSs we upgraded to the ATS. Major issues with the electronic systems and on board computer where never fixed after multiple dealership visits. The suspension is horrible and you feel every rock on the road, not no mention the bone chilling after shocks

This vehicle is much smaller than I thought. I prefer a bucket seat. Ride is not as smooth other Cadillacs that I've owned. Quite noisy when driving, as it interfers when using my dashboard hands free calling.

My ATS was purchased used with 50,000 miles. I drove it another 30,000. Right at 80,000 miles, things started to go terribly wrong. The airbag warning appeared every time I started the car. A few times I saw the "Steering lock" warning appear. The gas mileage is abysmal (but it's

This car would be fine if it was marketed as a Chevrolet product. Not quite Cadillac quality. The CUE system horrible and has been plagued with issues since the day it was new. This is a well know issue with these cars and GM has chosen not to do anything
